Pregnancy Nutrition

Nutritional support during pregnancy — meeting nutrient needs, managing symptoms and supporting healthy fetal growth.

Nutrition during pregnancy plays an important role in the mother’s health and in the healthy growth of the baby. Nutritional intervention and guidance is helpful in cases such as:

  • Nausea and vomiting in the first trimester
  • Heartburn and gastrointestinal discomfort
  • Excessive or inadequate weight gain during pregnancy
  • Prevention and/or management of gestational diabetes
  • Iron deficiency or low iron levels
  • Constipation during pregnancy
  • Monitoring weight gain through pregnancy
  • The need to meet energy and nutrient requirements appropriately
  • Organising a balanced everyday eating plan
  • Guidance on safe and suitable food choices during pregnancy

The aim is to create a nutrition plan that supports the mother’s health and contributes to the healthy growth of the baby.
